Check out this item in my Etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/listing/540254481/buttered-popcorn-soap
Yes, as a huge fan of popcorn, I had to make buttered popcorn soap!
I have also listed a chevron knitted hat. I plan to add more of my knitted and crocheted items in my shop later this month.
Hoping everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July!
So I am a little rusty on soap making! It showed on my pomegranate soap two weeks ago! I won’t even post a picture of it! I made another loaf last week, not bad and then cut this yesterday.
My new soap is scented with white citrus. The top cracked just a bit, but still much nicer than the last two attempts! I made white tea and ginger soap yesterday and so far it looks good. (Memo to self, never take a two month break from soapmaking!)
I played with bath bombs yesterday. I strayed from my trusty recipe and tried a new one. It started to react when I added the wet ingredients and I had to save it by adding more dry ingredients. It caused the mixture to dry faster and I had enough time to cut out stars and then roll the rest into bath “rocks!”
It was fun and the bath bombs still did well when I tested a couple. (Memo to self: stick with the best recipe!)
I love being creative and messy and having fun with the bath products I make. A lot of failures and some successes, but a whole lot of learning and loving the process.
I am planning to add bath bombs in my Etsy shop next month and bubble bars in March. Check out my soaps, stop by www.etsy.com/shop/littlemisssuds
Winter gardenia soap!
Sugar cookie soap!
For information on the fragrance, check out my shop!
My housework has been put on hold, again! That is my plan for the day! This past week, I have been playing with ChapStick! Making my own! Looking for that perfect chocolate peppermint mix!
I made a popcorn stitch hat for winter and made soap!
I plan to call it Winter Garden. It will be available in my Etsy shop November 1st. I also made Sugar cookie soap. Sorry, no pictures, (my dog Patch is in my lap!), but I love how dark the fragrance turned the soap. Smells great and it too will be available November 1st.
I have also been working on a baby sweater. It is finished, but needs to be put together! (Lots of unfinished projects for me to do.)
My next plan of action is to buy a photo box for professional pictures. Any photo tips would be greatly appreciated!
Do you know that one frugal person who won’t throw away a sliver of soap because it would be wasteful? I have the perfect gift for them! Soap saver bags!
Just throw the scraps into the bag and you will never waste soap again! Or put a whole bar in it!
I just added these cute bags to my Etsy shop last night. Two bags for $5. Go check it out! The colors available are purple, orange, blue and holiday.
I will be adding more colors eventually. I hope you have a great weekend! Melissa
No, I am not expecting, nor is any of my three daughters, but I am preparing!
The weekend was busy as always! Those days are reserved for me to sit on the sofa, knit or crochet, make soap and watch YouTube videos on how to make handmade items! Yes, I love my crafty life!
The picture above is the newborn hat and blanket I made! I bought the yarn, on clearance, at AC Moore. I still have a large skein left and plan on making a baby sweater with it.
Of course I made soap! I used a pvc pipe to get a round shape and I let the fragrance do its work to discolor the soap to brown. The fragrance is Gingersnap.
This is Love Spell! Such a beautiful scent! I can’t wait to use it! It will be available in my Etsy shop in six weeks.
I loved the scent so much I made eyeball bath bombs with it! I will have these in my shop by tonight!
I have been putting up bookshelves in my craft room to have more hoarding space, I mean more space. It’s a nice sized room, but when you are a crafter, you need a warehouse!
Have a beautiful Tuesday! Melissa
While my daughter has this week off from work, we have been doing our favorite things, crafts! This is what I have been working on this week!
Above is a hanging wash cloth. I have given it a test run and like it as much as the waffle stitch cloth. Again, because of the cotton in it, it will shrink some if thrown in the dryer. I like to hang mine up or lay flat to dry.
This is a soap bag. You put your scraps of soap in it, pull the cord. It is a great gift for people who do not like to waste anything! (Myself included! )
This is yesterdays soap. Pumpkin and brown sugar! I can’t wait to cut it!
And last but not least, another waffle stitch wash cloth on my loom!
Today, I will be making more soap bags and Gingersnap soap.
If you like boring pics of soaps and crafts, I am on Instagram and Snapchat. Melissajplum!
Happy Thursday! Melissa
